North Vancouver has many fabulous neighbourhoods but none have the history of Grand Boulevard. In the early 1900’s this garden community developed around the beautifully landscaped park gave way to large stately homes aimed at “high-class” residents. In fact there was building covenants put in place to help ensure this type of home was constructed. For years local politicians, public figures and some of North Vancouver’s most affluent families resided on Grand Boulevard.
Today Grand Boulevard has become known as one of the sunniest and more convenient neighbourhoods in all of North Vancouver. As this area was originally designed as a fire break, large trees were removed in 1906. This combined with generally flat neighbourds that roll gently to the south creates sun from noon to night. Grand Boulevard is almost exclusively detached residences with many of the lots running north south offering bright sunny homes and yards. Residents are blocks from highway access and walking distance to Lonsdale for all shopping and dining needs. It comes as a surprise to many new residents but this area is also transit friendly. For example, the 240 bus can be caught at 15th and Grand Boulevard and takes its riders to downtown Vancouver. The Grand Boulevard area offers some of the finest parks and great public schools as well.
